It all starts with you.
Whether your project is a custom home, an addition, or a large or small scale renovation, the process always starts with you. From the moment you first speak our team, they are taking notes to cater to your exact needs, no matter the size or scope of the project. We aim to make every project as unique as you are and satisfy all of your requirements.
MEET & GREET
1
Meet with your JSH Design & Build representative or your local independent dealer to understand your goals, budget range, timeline and overall vision for your project. This is where we learn how you plan to use the space and what matters most to you. It also gives you a change to ask questions and determine if we’re the right fit for you.
SITE REVIEW & FEASIBILTY
2
We evaluate site conditions, zoning requirements, utilities, and any potential constrains that may impact design or construction. This step helps identify opportunities early while avoiding costly surprises later. If every needed, we consult with local engineers and consultants to determine feasibility of the site.
CONCEPT PLANNING
3
Preliminary layouts and design concepts are developed to explore spatial flow, massing, and overall direction. We focus on balancing functionality, aesthetics, and budget from the very beginning. This phase establishes the foundation for all future design decisions.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
4
Concepts are refined into detailed plans, material selections, and 3D visualizations. We collaborate closely with you to fine-tune layouts, finishes, and architectural details. By the end of this phase, the design reflects both your vision and practical construction considerations.
PRICING & SCOPE ALIGNMENT
5
We prepare a detailed cost review based on the developed design and proposed scope of work. If needed, value engineering options are explored to align the project with your budget without sacrificing quality. Final scope is confirmed before moving into documentation.
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
6
Permit-ready drawings and specifications are prepared for submission and construction. This includes architectural plans and coordinated stamped plans from engineers when required. These documents serve as the roadmap for building and ensures all trades on site know what goes where and prevents in-field revisions or RFIs.
PERMITTING & PROCUREMENT
7
We manage all permit submissions and all material ordering and scheduling, freeing up your builder to build, while we handle the logistics of , pricing, ordering, shipping, and shortages. Lead times are coordinated to keep the project moving efficiently. This phase bridges design and construction, ensuring everything is in place when we break ground on your project.
PRODUCTION & CONSTRUCTION
8
Construction begins with active project management, trade coordination, and quality control throughout the build. We oversee progress, answer field questions (RFIs), and ensure work quality aligns with our expectations and the approved plans. Communication remains consistent so you stay informed every step of the way. When able, weekly client walkthrough meetings are held to answer questions.
FINAL WALKTHROUGH
9
Once construction is complete, we conduct a thorough walkthrough together. We review finishes, utility functionality, and overall workmanship to make sure expectations have been met. Any remining items are documented for completion.
PUNCH LIST & CLOSEOUT
10
Final adjustments and touch-ups are completed based on the final walkthrough. Required documentation and project closeout materials are provided. With everything finalized, your project is officially complete and ready for you to enjoy.
